The St. Xavier Water Polo program is hosting the 2017 St. Xavier Sunlite Shootout in the largest pool in the country, Sunlite Pool, at Coney Island. The tournament starts this Saturday, September 16 at 7:30 am with games all day until sunset. It continues on Sunday, September 17 at 7:30 am with the Gold Bracket Championship at 3:18 pm.
There will be JV and Varsity teams coming from all over the Midwest including Illinois and Michigan. The Bombers will feature 3 Varsity and 2 Junior Varsity teams during the weekend. The top Varsity group for St. Xavier opens play at 9:14 am on Saturday morning vs. St. Charles from Columbus and plays again at 2:26 pm vs. Thomas Worthington from Columbus. They conclude their play on Saturday with a game at 5:02 pm vs. Huron from Michigan. They continue play on Sunday in the 1st round of the Gold Bracket at 9:14 am vs. Mason and hope to play in the Semi Finals at 12:42 pm and the Finals at 3:18 pm.
The admission for adults is $8 with kids 10 and under free. The max for a family will be $20. Concessions will be available and food trucks will be on site as well.
