Varsity Golf Wins GCL in Record Setting Way

The Varsity Golf Team traveled to Glenview Golf Course today to play the final 18, of 72, holes in the GCL. The Bombers came into today with a 46 shot lead over second place Elder. The Bombers lost some of their lead today, but held on easily to get the win.

The Bombers shot a team total of 298 today. The Bombers were lead by Junior Oscar Zimmerman who shot a two over 74. Zimmerman also won player of the year in GCL, this capped off an impressive weekend for the Junior, who shot a hole in one on Saturday, and had a double eagle yesterday. Zimmerman was followed by Senior Garrett Madden who shot a 74 and Seniors Cameron Frazier and Daniel Hogan who both shot a 75.

Elder shot the lowest score of the day, a 294. Elder was followed by the 298 shot by St. Xavier. Moeller shot a 320 and Lasalle shot a 358.

The Bombers finished with a 72 hole total of 1160 which broke the previous record of 1182. Elder finished in second with a total of 1202, followed by Moeller's 1274 and Lasalle's 1416.

Multiple Bombers earned league honors. Oscar Zimmerman won GCL Player of the Year. He was joined on the first team by Cameron Frazier, Garrett Madden, and Senior Michael Prebles. George Mitchell was named to the second team.
