Varsity Track and Field Finishes 2nd at Coaches Classic

The St. Xavier Varsity Track and Field team participated in the 2017 Buckeye Coaches Classic on Friday night at Ross HS and finished 2nd overall in the team standings.  LaSalle finished 1st with 99 points with the Bombers close behind at 85 points.  St. Xavier finished ahead of Kings (83), Fairfield (68), Loveland (62), Elder (41), Oak Hills (39), Withrow (35), Winton Woods (32), Moeller (29), Harrison (21), Anderson (19), Turpin (18), Milford (12), Western Brown (10), Walnut Hills (7) and Northwest (3).  Scorers for St. Xavier included:

Shot Put - senior Jonah Yates 2nd place (48-05.75)

Discus - Yates 1st place (157-11) and junior Sean Mesue 2nd place (143-06)

High Jump - senior Ryan Sullivan 5th place (6-00.00)

4x800 Meter Relay team - 3rd place - 8:26.90 - junior Myles Hall, senior Michael Holly, junior Jonathan Stansbury, senior Will Morgan

100 Meter Dash - junior TJ Ahrens 5th place (11.38) and senior Micah Farrar 7th place (11.44)

1600 Meter Run - sophomore Matthew Hoak 2nd place (4:34.48) and sophomore Joe Doogan 5th place (4:39.71)

400 Meter Dash - senior Justin VanMeter 6th place (53.01)

800 Meter Run - senior Jack Cordionnier 3rd place (2:01.66) and senior Will Morgan 4th place (2:02.97)

3200 Meter Run - senior Chris Reischel 3rd place (9:44.96) and junior Peter Dauenhauer 4th place (9:46.33)

4x400 Meter Relay team - 3rd place - 3:36.49 - senior Ryan Sullivan, junior Alex Rudich, sophomore Henry Young, senior Justin VanMeter
