MASON INVITATIONAL TROPHY HEADS TO ST. XAVIER
There is no doubt that the St. Xavier Football Team set the tone for the AquaBombers. Ten hours following the amazing win in Columbus, those representing the Blue & White in the pool delivered in dramatic fashion at the 13th Annual Mason Invitational, bringing home the title.
The field included over twenty teams, including state notables Akron Firestone and Mason. After a nearly fourteen hour day, the St. X squad won seven of eleven events (tying a school record) while earning 441 points. Entering the meet, the AquaBombers were projected to score 377 points. Akron Firestone (247) and Mason (229) rounded out the top three. A closer look inside the numbers shows the quality and depth of the thirteen athletes representing the Long Blue Line. Each qualified in at least one championship final (top 8) and every swim scored. Best times calculations were just shy of 90%.
