Amul Thapar is a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the jurisdiction of which includes Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Michigan, and the central courthouse of which is located in downtown Cincinnati. Judge Thapar has also worked in private practice at Williams & Connolly in Washington, D.C., and Squire, Sanders & Dempsey in Cincinnati, Ohio. Judge Thapar received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.

John McCarthy, ’98 (Berning Gymnasium)
Mr. McCarthy established his first nonprofit while in college to help students further their self-awareness through retreat. Since then, his purpose is to disciple individuals towards self-discovery around their purpose which he defines as living an integrated life of joy at home and at work.
Brandon Reynolds, ’10, aka “B the Keeper” (Ellis Gymnasium)
After graduating from St. X, Mr. Reynolds earned a degree in marketing from the University of Cincinnati and was working in advertising when he decided to switch career paths and become a beekeeper.
In 2021 the website BestBees.com named Mr. Reynolds “the future of beekeeping, [one] who has found the secret sauce to beekeeping.”
Yolanda Carter (Chapel of the Holy Companions)
Yolanda is currently a Director in the Product Management team within the Medical Devices (MD) Supply Chain organization at Johnson and Johnson. She also serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for FOCAS/Lord’s Gym Ministries of greater Cincinnati.
Dr. William Barrett, ’78 (Walter C. Deye SJ Performance Center)
Dr. William L. Barrett is Co-Director of the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology and Medical Director of the UC Barrett Cancer Center.
Dr. Barrett’s overwhelming priority has been to reduce the suffering and mortality associated with cancer in the Greater Cincinnati region while encouraging the community to embrace the challenge of making Cincinnati a destination for cancer care.
