Welcome to the first Theatre Xavier Newsletter The TX Circle!
Welcome to the first edition of The TX Circle, a communication from Theatre Xavier and St. Xavier High School to connect TX alumni. Our hope is to give you an opportunity to reconnect to a place, people, and experiences that have been important in you becoming you. We plan to feature updates such as "Where are they now?", "What is happening in TX now?" and, just when you thought you took a final curtain, an invitation to a new role. Specifically, and as you might expect, you are invited to support TX . You will hear more on that later. One way to show your support is to help us connect to past casts and crews. Please forward this email to any TXers you know using the button below. To refer a friend of the program click here.

Illuminations 2021 Illuminations is the annual TX lighting design competition where students get the opportunity to work with a professional sized lighting rig, creating their own lighting shows set to music. This is a competition between tech-minded students in which they create rock-style light shows set to music of their choosing. The whole evening is judged by lighting industry professionals from around Cincinnati who not only give TX students feedback on their lighting projects but also advice about entering the world of professional tech theatre. They show off their creativity and have loads of fun doing it. Click here to watch the entire Illuminations show! Take a look back on Theatre Xavier History with Linda (Donahue) Mace and Michele Mascari. Click here to read their memories about the storied program. Ryan Canterbury '21 is a familiar face at TX having appeared in shows such as It's A Wonderful Life, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime (pictured), War of the Worlds and now - 1776. Ryan never expected to join TX when he first came to St. Xavier, but he fell in love with acting during a theatre class and credits TX with giving him lifelong friends and a passion for the arts. Good luck in college Ryan! This semester's 1776 is being led by Theatre Xavier Co-Director, Elizabeth Harris. Ms. Harris is an accomplished director who earned her Master's degree in Playwriting and Performance. She not only teaches at St. X but is also the Artistic Director of Cincinnati Lab Theater. Previously she taught at the college level and was head of the CCM Preparatory School. ©2020 St. Xavier High School |
