Alumni E-News Greetings St. Xavier Alumni,
A great time was had by all at the Father Son Communion Breakfast where over 225 attendees enjoyed Mass and brunch at St. Xavier High School. The Father Son Communion Mass is for all students and their fathers, uncles, grandfathers and brothers, and takes place every year around the end of April.
The class of 1969 is celebrating their 50 year reunion with a weekend full of events. The weekend starts with them leading the graduation procession as the physical representation of the long blue line for the class of 2019 on May 31st at Cintas Center where 386 seniors will start the next chapter of their journeys. This will also mark the end of an era at St. X from a faculty and staff standpoint – a most sincere thank you, congratulations, and best of luck to Marguerite Bourgeois, Steve Bradley, Dave Cappel, Dave Clapp, Tim Cronin, Diane Engber, Terry Hale, Dennis O'Brien, Janet Reder, Paul Rieselman '71, Marty Roberts '76, Gil Wendling, Star Vondrell, and George Day. Together they combine with more than 390 years of experience and knowledge at St. Xavier High School, and they will be greatly missed. If you have a second, reach out to them and thank them for everything they've done for the St. Xavier community. The President's Dinner on May 7 honored a number of people, most notably Paul Rieselman '71 and Janet Reder who received the Magis award and Steve Hils '71 who received the Insignis award. Mr. Hils was then surprised by his family, friends, and fan club who donated $221,325 towards the Steve Hils '71 Scholarship fund. Thanks to all those who support the school and attended the President's Dinner.
We're honored to announce James Sand '03 and Matthew Spotts '04 will be ordained on June 8 into the Jesuit Order. Congratulations and thank you for representing the Long Blue Line in the 485-year tradition as you live your lives as Men for Others.
Sincerely, Will Reilly '09 Director of Alumni and Special Events
