Wednesday was our biennial Ignatian Summit Day, a tradition that brings our entire school together around a shared focus. This school year’s theme is Encounter, as we reflect on our relationship with God, ourselves, and one another.

We were grateful to welcome speakers Mark Fischer, Amy Hull, Kris Jones ’06, and Deacon Winters, who each offered unique perspectives on what it means to truly encounter.

Mark Fischer explored the connection between encounter and care for our common home. Amy Hull reflected on encounter and empathy. Kris Jones ’06 examined the relationship between encounter and technology. Deacon Winters shared how encounter deepens our spiritual lives.

Thank you to all of our speakers for joining us!

To continue with Summit Week, there was an Encounter Fair on Thursday to highlight optional community and social justice engagement opportunities today. Multiple students signed up to get more involved at school and in their communities.

Monday, February 2 marked the capstone of Summit Week as we welcomed Dr. Marcus Mescher for a powerful keynote centered on our theme, Encounter.

Dr. Mescher invited us to reflect on the ethics of encounter and our call to be the extended body of Christ in the world, reminding us that through authentic encounters, we come to know God more deeply through one another.

Thank you, Dr. Mescher, for joining us and for sharing your wisdom and story with our community.
