stang award

Yesterday, senior Patrick Cavanaugh was honored with the Spirit of Sister Dorothy Stang Award in recognition of his outstanding commitment to environmental stewardship, leadership, and service.

Presented annually across the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, the award recognizes graduating seniors who embody Sister Dorothy’s legacy of caring for the Earth, advocating for justice, and serving others. Patrick has truly lived out that mission.

Over the past four years, Patrick has made a lasting impact on our school community, from leading forest restoration efforts and coordinating the Nature Trail Service project, to co-founding the Environmental Action Committee and launching a backpacking club. His curiosity and initiative have driven him to conduct independent research, advocate at both the state and national levels, and even deliver a powerful address in Washington, D.C.

Beyond his many accomplishments, Patrick is a service-driven leader who inspires those around him to take action and work toward a more just and sustainable world.

Congratulations, Patrick!
