ecology lesson

As part of their ecology unit, Ms Shaughnessy's freshmen biology students spent a day removing the invasive species garlic mustard in the St. X woods.  In the process they got to experience some of the native wildlife that are part of the forest ecosystem they were helping to restore.  By then end of the day over 10,000 garlic mustard plants were removed, clearing the way for the native plants to have a chance to thrive.
