retired officer speaks from podium to classroom of students

On February 10, 2021, retired police officer Scotty Johnson spoke with Elizabeth Heile’s AP English Literature class regarding their study of Toni Morrison's Song of Solomon.  Ms. Heile said, "Our study of Toni Morrison’s Song of Solomon and the vigilante justice of The Seven Days (a fictional organization rooted in real-life Black secret societies that emerged in response to racial violence), coupled with the events of this past summer and the ongoing struggles that have proceeded them, makes this a great opportunity for some real-life connection."

Thank you to Mr. Wayne Miller, our Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at St. X for setting up this discussion.
