Today students from the St. X Environmental Action Committee built a Johnson-Su bioreactor system to create compost that will be used for growing native plants in our campus woodlands and pollinator gardens. Unlike decomposition in a landfill, this aerobic system allows food scraps to break down without producing  the greenhouse gas methane.
