sap

Today all day in the chapel courtyard, the Environmental Action Club boiled 45 gallons of sap harvested from sugar maple trees in our St. X woods to make our very own maple syrup.  It takes at least 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup!  Students were able to stop by the chapel courtyard to see and smell all that goes into producing real maple syrup, participate in blind taste tests comparing syrups and to enjoy some pancakes!  Proceeds from the pancake sale went to the Mission Collection!
