Early Dismissal Policy
If a student absolutely must go to a mid-week appointment when school is in session, the best alternative would be to make an early morning appointment and have the student come to school late directly following that appointment, as opposed to an afternoon appointment when the student is already in school. Also, try and plan for non-class time dismissals. See the schedule grid in the student / parent handbook for class times.
If your child needs to leave school early during the school day, please follow the procedure outlined below:
- Have your child bring in a note to the front office BEFORE HOMEROOM. This note should include the time the child will be picked up and the name of the person who will be signing them out of school.
- We will then give your child a blue early dismissal pass that they will show to their teacher to be dismissed. Hopefully, they will be waiting in the office for you when you arrive.
- If the early departure is for only part of the day and the student returns to school, he/she must sign in at the attendance office upon returning. The secretary will give the student a re-admit-to-class slip when the student returns.
This procedure allows us to inform our teachers of the student's early dismissal and limits interrupting classrooms. Thank you for your cooperation.
