The St. Xavier bowling team is having tryouts for the 2009-10 season on November 16, 17, and 18, at Brentwood Bowl at 3:45. All are welcome to tryout, experienced or inexperienced. Personal bowling balls and bowling shoes are not required; there will be ones available at Brentwood Bowl. This information will be in the announcements the week prior to tryouts. For more information please contact Mr. Alan Runkel, Head Coach at 513-324-1834.

St. X won the GCL South title in a tie-breaker with LaSalle by virtue of winning the GCL Tournament earlier in the year.

The Bowling Bombers won the Sectional tournament at Colerain Bowl to advance to the District tournament. At the Sectional tournament, Kevin Justice (Jr.) bowled a new school record of 747 for 3 games erasing the previous record of 721 by Jack Lennon in 2006.

The Bowling Bombers won the District tournament in Middletown in what may have been the best-ever overall team effort for St. X. Four boys had a 600-series or better for the three games: Chris Weber (Jr.) 694, T.J. Kathman (Jr.) 639, Bryan Eltzroth (Jr.) 631, and Kevin Bergen (Sr.) 606. In addition, coming off the bench in the third game was Jake Boerger (Sr.) with a 223 game.

The boys in royal blue and black made the cut into the second round of the State finals by finishing 7th during the qualifying. However, their dreams of a State championship ended abruptly when they were defeated 3 -1 in the first round of a best-of-five baker match with Kettering Fairmount.
