St. Xavier High School Athletics
Welcome to St. Xavier Athletics!
We are very proud of our athletic tradition here at St. Xavier High School. We have over 900 students competing on 43 teams in 14 sports at the interscholastic level. We also offer numerous intramural and club level opportunities.
| We believe our strong athletic program promotes enthusiasm, loyalty and school spirit within the student body. It provides a link and rallying point for our students, faculty, alumni and community. |

The goal of Jesuit education is the pursuit of each student’s intellectual, spiritual, and physical development to the full measure of his God-given talents.
At St. Xavier, our athletic mission is to match the academic excellence of the school by providing an environment in which the student-athlete will learn and grow. Our coaches understand the football and soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball and tennis courts, etc. are all classrooms just as the library, theatre, chapel and labs.
Our athletes will learn to shed their personal goals to work for the good of the team. We believe good teams have good players, but Great teams have Great Teammates. The athletes will learn self-respect, self-discipline and self-esteem. They will learn how to win with dignity, cope with defeat and learn from their mistakes. But most importantly, they will understand themselves better as they strive for the “Magis”. We believe these lessons will carry them through life.
At St. Xavier, we believe the goal of games is to win, while the goal of athletics is to grow.
Thank you for your consistent support of our student athletes and programs at St. Xavier High School.
Sincerely,
John Sullivan, Athletic Director |
Joseph P. Molony ‘84, Assistant Athletic Director |
