St. Xavier High School welcomes inquiries from qualified students interested in transferring after freshman year. Recently we have had openings for transfer students, and we have found that transfer students contribute a great deal to the culture and atmosphere of the school and gain much from the experience as well.

Each year we admit a small number of transfer students who present clearly defined academic and social needs for transfer, supported by a proven record of achievement in a college-preparatory high school curriculum. We hope the information that follows will enable you to give careful consideration to St. Xavier High School as you make plans to continue your high school experience.

Candidates for transfer admission will be considered for Fall 2011 enrollment.

Transfer Applicant Instructions
St. Xavier High School is now accepting transfer applicants for Fall 2011 admission. We encourage interested students to apply. Decisions are made on a rolling basis through Wednesday, June 8, 2011 and spaces are limited. No application will be accepted or considered after June 30.

You may apply by downloading the online application packet or by contacting the Office of Admission to receive the official transfer application packet via U.S. Postal mail.

To ensure your application for transfer is complete and processed in a timely manner, please submit the following information:

• Transfer Application
• Personal Statement
• Resume of co-curricular activities
• High School academic grades
• Standardized scores (if available)
• Personal letter of recommendation

Transfer Admission Criteria
St. Xavier High School welcomes students from all faiths, backgrounds and walks of life. The primary consideration for transfer admission to St. Xavier High School is overall school enrollment, the prospective student’s academic ability as measured by standardized scores and the candidate’s current high school academic record.

Other admission criteria include:

• Proficiency in writing as demonstrated by Personal Statement of the transfer application
• Co-curricular involvement
• Personal letter of recommendation

Tuition Assistance
During these challenging economic times we recognize and appreciate the commitment families have made to St. Xavier High School. It is the goal of our administration that every young man who has the ability and the desire to attend St. X be able to do so regardless of financial circumstances. With that said, there is a finite tuition assistance budget set aside for transfer applicants. Tuition assistance is awarded in the form of grants to students demonstrating need on the basis of family financial circumstances.

Interviews and Tours
Interviews – It is not standard practice that transfer applicants will be interviewed; however it may be necessary in those rare instances where the committee needs further information on a candidate to make a good decision.
