The Bombers opened up their weekend with a non-league game against Indian Hill last Saturday at 7 pm. The game took place at Indian Hill Winter Club. The Bombers did not play their best hockey in this one. The Bombers got on the board first when senior Tyler Dellerman put the puck past the goaltender. Indian Hill responded with two goals. The Bombers came back to score two more goals. One goal by senior John Driscoll on a shot from close to the corner and a slap shot from the high slot by freshman Nick Langenderfer. Indian Hill then put up two goals in the same shift to take a 4-3 lead. Indian Hill added another goal to make it a 5-3 game. Then Bomber’s senior Kyle Archdeacon was able to get one past the Indian Hill goaltender to make it a one goal game. Indian Hill went on to add an empty net goal to seal the game. The Bombers got assists from sophomore Noah Reidy, senior Billy Johnson, Dellerman, and Driscoll.
The Bombers looked to rebound quickly with their second league game of the season against Centerville. The Bombers got on the board first as Reidy was able to find the back of the net, 30 seconds in, with an assist from Jack Langenderfer. Then, with 10 minutes left in the period senior Nick Kaneps found the back of the net with Jack Langenderfer recording another assist. The Bombers continued the pressure, and got a third goal, this one on the power play, when Dellerman made a pass across the zone to senior Daniel Luongo who one-timed it past the Centerville goaltender. Centerville finally got on the board in the second, but this did not stop the Bombers, as they went on to win the game 8-2. Reidy added two more goals later in the game to record the hat trick. Freshman Trevor Tiemeyer also had two goals. Archdeacon added one of his own towards the end of his game as well. Bombers were led in assists by Jack Langenderfer (3), Dellerman (2), sophomore Max Boulton (2), senior Neil Keyser (1), junior James Winstel (1), senior Aiden Krueger (1).
