Interim Principal Named for St. X
New Interim Principal Named
President Fr. Timothy Howe, S. J. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. William Sandquist as the Interim Principal for St. Xavier High School beginning, August 1, 2012. Mr. Sandquist will step in for outgoing Principal David Mueller for the 2012/13 school year who will begin as principal for Mother of Mercy this fall.
Mr. Sandquist has been at St. Xavier High School since 1981. He has served as the Assistant Principal for Academic Affairs for the past 19 years and was a member of the faculty prior to his position in administration.
Mr. Sandquist has degrees from Salesian Pontifical Athenaeum and Don Bosco College in Newton, NJ. Prior to his career at St. Xavier High School he was a faculty member at Regina High School and Summit Country Day. He has served St. Xavier in many capacities including the Educational Committee of the Board of Trustees, leadership of Faculty Department Heads, Health and Wellness Committee Chair and he was instrumental in the creation of the Academic Awards Program at St. X.
“I'm very grateful to Mr. Sandquist for generously taking on this important responsibility,” said Fr. Howe. “His wisdom and deep dedication to our mission will surely keep us pointed in the right direction as we find the next academic leader for St X.”
In response to this new opportunity, Mr. Sandquist said, “It is all about the students. I feel honored and privileged that I was asked to take on this responsibility and make decisions that will continue to maintain the same quality education that is St. Xavier High School.”
An appointed committee will begin this fall with a complete and thorough search to fill the Principal position.
