Distracted Driving Presentation

by Brittany Tweardy

The St. Xavier Sophomore class had a wake-up call about "Distracted Driving" thanks to a presentation by Mark Kitrick ’73.

This topic has increasingly become a concern for drivers of all ages. “Distracted Driving” is a student awareness initiative to inform young drivers how they can be responsible behind the wheel.

Mr. Kitrick, an attorney currently living in the Columbus area, works in conjunction with the “60 for Safety: End Distracted Driving Student Awareness Initiative” sponsored nationally by the Injury Board. Mr. Kitrick’s presentation covered the sobering statistics of our current safety crisis, shared personal experiences of the costs of distracted driving and offered simple steps that students can use immediately to help themselves and others around them to end distracted driving.
